The last year of high school I won the National Scholastic first prize in sculpture for a walnut wood carving of mother and child . While in the army I took classes and exhibited in Japan. I used my GI Bill to attend the Mpls School of art. For two years I was a Benedictine monk working as a sculptor. I made a set of the stations of the cross in cast concrete, large plaques in oak and larger-than-life corpus for a crucifix. I have attended a weekly portrait painting session for the past 25 years. I have sold numerous portraits, landscapes and sculpture and have exhibited often locally.
